sexual violence

many of the episodes are rated 15 with 3 rated 18 due to strong sex scenes and strong, bloody violence

'the red wedding' rated 15 for strong bloody violence and is very graphic with shocking scenes - pregnant lady is stabbed in the stomach and the scene shows the weapon going into her. They should not dwell on pain and injury. As it is a 15 it must not show infliction.

'The mountain of the viper' a battle scene in the form of combat, after a long sequence of fighting there is a blood spray from a characters mouth, there is then a hefty blow delivered to the other characters head, the character then presses his fingers into the others eyes and causes him immense pain with blood spraying out. Very strong gory images, not really acceptable violence towards places that make you flinch eg. eyes. Rated an 18 as it was too strong and gory for a 15.

'the battle of bastards' - a showdown between two brothers, war violence in a medieval setting, rated an 18 due to very realistic war violence - stabbings, with lots of bodily organs on show, creates a cumulative feel of bloody violence.  Images reflective of the Holocaust.

Leveson inquiry: was a legal public inquiry into the culture, practices and ethics of the British press following the News International phone hacking scandal, chaired by Lord Justice Leveson, who was appointed in July 2011. Rupert Merdoch hacked celebrity phones and leaked their stories into the news - at the time of this Hugh Grant was having an affair and it was leaked into the news.  A girl was murdered and the newspapers were sending her phone voicemails making it seem like she was still alive.
