client briefs/ swot analysis

Image
Informal : formal client briefs from rubyshefras Tender:   This is where a client will advertise their brief and a production company will bring together a proposal that they will pitch to the client, there could be multiple pitches to the client from many different companies, so the client will then get the chance to choose the proposal that they think best suits their brief and offer the job to that production company. Advantages        The advantages of this brief is that the client will be able to look at many different ideas for their product from different companies perspectives and in effect will be able to produce their product to a very high standard if one of the pitched ideas stands out above all of the others. Disadvantages        The disadvantage of this type of brief is that if a company’s pitch is turned down by the client this can set them back in business as it is very hard to gain...

LO1 reflect and perfect

Identify two costs that you may need to consider when developing a new phone app and explain how these costs impact on the project (6) One cost may be the wage of the designer fo the app, either in terms of a graphic designer or someone who can code. They may be paid for the project as a whole or on an hourly rate. This might impact the project because if no one has those skills already they may need to pay a designer which will usually be expensive, which will eat into the budget. Finding the right designer for the right cost can be difficult which might also impact on time.  Another cost might be to copyright the name of the app so that other people do not use it once it has been launched. This would impact the project positively so that the name cannot be copied. This does take time, however, so it might delay the project if they needed to wait for this to happen.  One cost might be to pay for market research to be completed on the product before the release ...

Homework: legal and ethical issues: To The Bone

Image
https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/inside-out-outside-in/201707/two-psychiatrists-weigh-in-netflix-s-the-bone As child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrists we have eagerly been awaiting Netflix’s release of  To The Bone . It seems intended to significantly raise awareness, educate viewers and open conversations about these severe  psychiatric disorders.   Eating disorders  arise in the context of a “perfect storm” of factors, including biological vulnerability (genetic predisposition, associated mood instability), temperament (perfectionistic, obsessive, and sensitive to rejection), and a societal preoccupation with the thin ideal. While  family dynamics  may contribute, it is important to note that eating disorders also, and very often, arise in loving and supportive families. The film tells the story of Ellen, a 20 year-old Caucasian female with chronic  anorexia nervosa , who seeks treatment with the unconventional Dr. Beckham (p...

How much does it cost to advertise on UK TV?

This article takes a look at how much it actually costs to buy a slot on some of the UK's most popular channels. Recently Facebook unveiled a set-top TV app to host video content in a move that could soon see it compete with platforms such as YouTube as well as traditional TV channels. Emarketer predicts that by 2020 online ads will account for 60% of marketing budgets while TV will represent just 21.5% - a decline from the projected 25% slice anticipated this year. However, there is an ongoing debate in the industry about the transparency of the digital ecosystem. Both YouTube and Facebook have come under fire for issues around data and brand safety. BARB claims that the average UK viewer watches 45 TV ads a day without skipping. Although it's clear digital will continue its path to domination, the effectiveness of TV is still likely to be a hot topic over the next 12 months. And so The Drum has pulled together a rundown of the estimated costs for brands looking to stu...
